Tomorrow, Sat, Dec 13, ultra elite athlete Yassine Diboun, ultra prodigy Anthony Lee, and ultra wannabe slugger Christof Teuscher will attempt a variant of the official Animal Athletics Double-Double. Instead of “just” running up Mt. Defiance (4,960ft) and Dog Mountain (2,960ft), we’ll also run between the two trail heads. That requires a massive 24mi-detour over the Bridge of Gods in Cascade Locks. The route over Hood River would be shorter, but alas, there are no pedestrians allowed on the Hood River bridge.
The total distance will add up to about 40mi with over 10,000ft of elevation gain.

We’ll start from the Starvation Creek Trailhead between 6 and 6:30am and go up Mt. Defiance first. If you are out there somewhere along the route, come and cheer us on. We’ll need it!
While plenty of crazies have done DDs, Triple Ds, or DDTs (Mt. Defiance, Dog Mt., Table Mt.), we believe that a “real” Defiance-Dog double as never been done.
