height: 24px;\">11<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 25%; height: 24px;\">Middle Sister<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 25%; height: 24px;\">3,062m<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 25%; height: 24px;\">10,047ft<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h4>The Challenges<\/h4>\n<p>The <em>Cascades 11-over-10 Challenge Series<\/em> consists in<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>summiting <i>P<\/i>\u00a0\u2208 [2&#8230;11] out of the 11 peaks and<\/li>\n<li>covering\u00a0the distance between the <i>P<\/i>\u00a0mountains with human muscle power only.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Without considering the peak order, there are\u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>55 sets containing\u00a02\u00a0peaks<\/li>\n<li>165 sets containing 3 peaks<\/li>\n<li>330 sets containing 4 peaks<\/li>\n<li>462 sets containing 5 peaks<\/li>\n<li>462 sets containing 6 peaks<\/li>\n<li>330 sets containing 7 peaks<\/li>\n<li>165 sets containing 8 peaks<\/li>\n<li>55 sets containing 9 peaks (Bronze Volcanoes)<\/li>\n<li>11 sets containing 10 peaks (Silver Volcanoes)<\/li>\n<li>1 set containing\u00a011 peaks (Golden Volcanoes)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thus, there is a total of\u00a02025 different\u00a0<em>Cascades 11-over-10 Challenges<\/em>. The goal of each\u00a0challenge is not only to climb and link up as many peaks by using human muscle power only, but to also complete the challenge as\u00a0fast as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Examples:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Climbing Adams, Hood, and Jefferson (in that order) counts as the same challenge as climbing Jefferson, Adams, and Hood (in that order). Both count as a <i>P<\/i>=3 challenge. The route choice and peak order is entirely up to the individual or team.<\/li>\n<li>The order in which you\u00a0bag the peaks for the <em>P<\/em>=11 challenge, i.e., climbing all 11 Cascade volcanoes over 10,000ft,\u00a0does not matter. You do not need to register or qualify or anything. There are no fees. Anyone can do it anytime of the year.<\/li>\n<li>The challenge\u00a0must start at an\u00a0official trailhead (typically the access trailhead for the first peak) and end at an official trailhead (typically the access trailhead for the last summit).<\/li>\n<li>The clock starts at the first\u00a0trailhead and stops when the individual or entire team reaches the destination\u00a0trailhead.<\/li>\n<li>You can chose your own route between the summits.<\/li>\n<li>The challenge can be done individually\u00a0or in teams. If completed\u00a0in a team, all team members must do all parts of the route. Relays do not count.<\/li>\n<li>The clock does not stop if the individual or team sleeps, rests, etc.<\/li>\n<li>The challenge must be completed in a single push. Sleep, rest, etc. along the route are allowed.\u00a0No leaving the route\u00a0and returning unless by using human muscle power only.<\/li>\n<li>Crews and stashing of gear, food, and water are allowed. All stashes must be retrieved.<\/li>\n<li>Each and every part of the route must be covered with human muscle power only. That includes: climbing, hiking, running, biking, skiing, and paragliding. Not just that, he bagged many others as well.
