In 2019, we had set an <a href=\"https:\/\/fastestknowntime.com\/fkt\/christof-teuscher-megan-lacey-alpine-lakes-grand-tour-wa-2019-07-28\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">unsupported FKT in 35:44<\/a>\u00a0(see <a href=\"https:\/\/christofteuscher.com\/aagaa\/report-alpine-lakes-grand-tour-fkt\/\">REPORT: Alpine Lakes Grand Tour FKT<\/a>). We figured we could go lighter supported (duh!) and perhaps even go under 30h (lol!). Perhaps not surprisingly, the sub-30 dream went to die quickly because of significant blowdown on some trails, a bee\/wasp attack, larches, mountain goats, tired bodies, and 4 year older bodies. There were also rocks. And granite slabs. Nevertheless, we were able to set a new supported FKT in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.strava.com\/activities\/10006016766\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">35:31<\/a>, a modest 13min faster than our <a href=\"https:\/\/christofteuscher.com\/aagaa\/report-alpine-lakes-grand-tour-fkt\/\">unsupported 2019 FKT<\/a>. This was most definitely the final chapter on this route. We said this before.<\/p>\n<h3>The Alpine Lakes Grand Tour<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/ultrawilderness.com\/alpine-lakes-grand-tour-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alpine Lakes Grand Tour<\/a> was initially proposed by Erich Sach as part of the 2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/ultrawilderness.com\/alpine-lakes-grand-tour-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UltraPedestrian Wilderness Challenge (UPWC)<\/a>. The (tor)tour starts on Snoqualmie Pass, leads through the majestic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fs.usda.gov\/recarea\/okawen\/recarea\/?recid=79432\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alpine Lakes Wilderness<\/a>, includes a traverse of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wta.org\/go-hiking\/hikes\/enchantment-lakes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Enchantments<\/a>, and ends after a long slog at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fs.usda.gov\/recarea\/okawen\/recarea\/?recid=58997\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Snow Lakes trailhead<\/a> just outside of Leavenworth.
