I was unable to climb Glacier Peak because there was too much snow still for a save traverse. I would have needed crampons and an ice ax. The final peak count is 31 in 85h46min. I will never do this again. <a href=\"https:\/\/christofteuscher.com\/aagaa\/report-2nd-epic-eagles-33-failure\/\">Here&#8217;s the report<\/a>.\r\n                            <\/div>\r\n                        <\/div>\n<p><span class=\"wpsdc-drop-cap\">T<\/span>he <a href=\"https:\/\/christofteuscher.com\/aagaa\/eagles-33-challenge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eagle&#8217;s 33 Challenge<\/a> consists of summiting all <a href=\"https:\/\/christofteuscher.com\/aagaa\/eagles-33-challenge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">33 peaks<\/a> over 9,000ft (2743m) with at least 300ft (91m) of prominence in Oregon&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fs.usda.gov\/detail\/wallowa-whitman\/recreation\/?cid=stelprdb5214080\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eagle Cap Wilderness<\/a>\u00a0in a single push.<\/p>\n<p>I will make a 2<sup>nd<\/sup> solo and self-supported attempt at this challenge on Thu, Aug 8, 2019. <a href=\"https:\/\/christofteuscher.com\/aagaa\/epic-eagles-33-fail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The 1<sup>st<\/sup> attempt in 2018 did not go well<\/a>, but I&#8217;ve done a lot of well-needed homework in the meantime. Compared to the famous <a href=\"http:\/\/mattmahoney.net\/nolans14\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nolan&#8217;s 14<\/a>\u00a0or the <a href=\"https:\/\/fastestknowntime.com\/route\/sangre-de-cristo-traverse-co\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sangre de Cristo Traverse<\/a>\u00a0(great reports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.14ers.com\/php14ers\/tripreport.php?trip=18727\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/justinsimoni.com\/2019\/07\/14\/sangre-de-cristo-range-traverse-fastpack\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>) there is no obvious and easy way to link up all 33 Eagle Cap Wilderness peaks.<\/p>\n<p>[pullquote]What could possibly go wrong?[\/pullquote]<\/p>\n<p>My planned route is over 100mi (161km) long with over 60,000ft (18&#8217;000m) of vertical gain. Good training for the <a href=\"https:\/\/ultrasignup.com\/register.aspx?did=61465\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Highlander 100<\/a>, I suppose.
