Inspired by Sean and Jim<\/a>, I’m about to make an unsupported solo attempt of the “Hatfield<\/a> on Steroids” route. The route consists in summiting 10 of the most prominent Columbia River Gorge peaks on the Oregon side:<\/p>\n

  1. Mt. Defiance<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Green Point Mt. <\/a><\/li>\n
  3. Tomlike Mt.<\/a><\/li>\n
  4. Chinidere Mt.<\/a><\/li>\n
  5. Indian Mt.<\/a><\/li>\n
  6. Tanner Butte<\/a><\/li>\n
  7. Nesmith Point<\/a><\/li>\n
  8. Larch Mt.<\/a><\/li>\n
  9. Devil’s Rest<\/a><\/li>\n
  10. Angel’s Rest<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    I will start at the Starvation Creek trailhead and\u2014in the very best case\u2014finish in terrible pain and awful misery at the Angel’s Rest trailhead. But things never go as planned during such adventures, so let’s not make any predictions…\"hatfield_plus\"<\/a><\/p>\n

    The route is about 75mi (120km) long, 15mi longer than the “regular” Hatfield trail<\/a>. It took me 17h in 2014 to complete the 60mi Hatfield trail<\/a>, so I expect this new steroid-version to take several hours longer. To the best of my knowledge, no one has successfully completed this route. Sean and Jim<\/a> bailed out after about 46mi and more than 20h on the trail in miserable conditions.<\/p>\n
