On Sat, May 1, 2021, I was finally able to complete a solo and self-supported<\/a> out & back (a.k.a. yo-yo or double) of Kokopelli’s Trail<\/a> in Utah\/Colorado. The attempt was announced here<\/a>. It took my aging self 118:51:50 (4d 22h 51min 50s) to get this fabulous<\/del> terrible ~284mi route done. To the best of my knowledge, no one had ever attempted an out & back on foot. I think I know why.<\/p>\n

My first out & back attempt six weeks before the second attempt did not go well. See the announcement<\/a>, report<\/a>, and the movie<\/a>. Yet, as always, the failure was also an important learning experience, which allowed me to better prepare for the second attempt.<\/p>\n
